Don't call us, we'll call you.
The check is in the mail! I just sent the government $550 in order to beg them to let me into Canada. I'll probably hear back in a month if I can actually apply for permenant residence at the federal level. In the mean time I had to ask the province if they wanted me. If all goes ok I double the amount of paperwork, get poked and prodded, and mail off another $550. Assuming the government likes what they see I get to pay them $1050 just get a card that says I'm a permenant resident of Canada, but I can't vote.
